ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN DIENG PLATEAU AND ECONOMIC GROWTH CAN GO HAND IN HAND
1. THE CURRENT SITUATION AND ENVIRONMENT RELATED PROBLEMS IN MY LOCAL AREA
Dieng Plateau is a place which acquires a lot of potentials. Such as in tourism sector for its natural view, culture, archaeological remains, food diversification etc that potential to become an international tourism resort, farming sector, ecosystem control. Yet, recently several problems occurs such as natural degradation, deforestation, the farming’s problems (the soil is not fertile any more, the using of synthetic fertilizer for farming is unrestrained the harvest decreased etc). Dieng Plateau is not as good as before. Therefore, it is needed a quick action to help Dieng Plateau recover.
2. NAME A FEW PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS THAT GOVERNMENT HAS SO FAR CARRIED OUT
Reforestation done by collaboration both Banjarnegara regency and Wonosobo regency
3. PERSONAL PROJECT TO HELP ALLEVIATE THIS PROBLEM (OBJECTIVES AND DELIVERABLES)
a. Elucidation about good farming in for society in Dieng Plateau.
b. Elucidation about the urgent problems (natural degradation, deforestation, the farming’s problems) faced Dieng Plateau that will bring serious problems if it doesn’t settled together.
c. Elucidation about the benefit of planting carica papaya, Vasconcellea cundinamarcensis, purwaceng and others as environment conservation to increase food diversification, tourism interest, and reforestation.
d. Elucidation about the new products made from carica papaya that can be developed.
e. Elucidation of benefitted the geographical condition to build a mini planetarium to increase tourism interest
4. RESOURCES REQUIRENMENTS
a. Manpower (Farming engineer, agronomist, Biologist, representatives of government both of Wonosobo and Banjarnegara),
b. Budget: Minimum Rp 6. 000. 000,-
c. LSM that intents to recover Dieng Plateau.
5. THE PROJECT’S BENEFICIAL FOR BOTH THE ECONOMY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Elucidation about the important to keep Dieng Plateau is very important, because its potentials as tourism sector, farming sector, ecosystem control is in danger. And it’s need social awareness to do it.
In the other hand, the elucidation about good farming is important because almost of the citizen in Dieng Plateau are farmers. Unfortunately, the farming activity doesn’t be supported by a good knowledge. For example the using of synthetic fertilizer for farming that is unrestrained that makes soil and water pollution. It is need a elucidation so that the citizen can run the economics life without destroy the environment.
The implementation of planting carica papaya is a form of reforestation that will make good impact for the environment as well as a way for food diversification that will support the society’s economy and tourism prospect. Till now, the products made from carica papaya is only for Carica in Syrup, it’s need a elucidation for the society that actually carica papaya can be made for syrup, jam, dodol, etc. By the elucidation, it’s hoped that the society will acquire new life skills that will support their economics life and can make a great impact for the tourism interest.
